I’ve been happily watching my 70 gallon reef cruise right along with absolutely no issues for over a year after adding a 4- head Jabao doser with 2 Part, Mg and vinegar doses dialed in. No algae, no cloudiness, lots of color and all my parameters just sat rock solid. It almost got boring.
The one day, the little blue light on my dosing pump went dark. Completely dead.
No problem...that’s the beauty of these little pumps. Easily replaced.
The next day, an identical unit is in the old one’s place, calibrated and hooked up, ready to dose.
I come out to check on it a few hours later....and the entire gallon of vinegar and half a gallon of Mg have siphoned into the tank.
Two big water changes, and a week of troubleshooting what could have happened, and I think I’ve got the issue fixed. All new pumping units, with their internals flipped around. I try the pump out on a test stand for a day and all looks in order.
Everything goes fine for three days...and then yesterday, another half gallon of vinegar, a pint of Mg and two pints of Alk have been dumped into the tank.
I’m done with these.
Any solid recommendations?
Any similar complaints about the Coral Box units?

I had got one to do an auto water change on one of my nano tanks. Every 3-4 days the dosing head would align just right to not completely seal the silicone tube causing a siphon. Thankfully I caught it before it completely drained my tank. Now I’m saving up for a unit with four rollers so there will always be a complete seal to avoid siphoning. Would love to hear if there is a fix for the Jebao for this issue.

Too early to tell on the Coral Box's long term reliability I've only had it for a short time. Checked a few times after calibrating and it didn't veer off the setting. It's a pleasure to do changes to the dosing from the phone and not have to stoop under the stand, which brings me to the only complaint I have with it. Connecting to the phone can be quirky at times, sometimes the dosing pump connects right away, and once and a while you need to open and close the app a few times before the dosing pump shows up.
