I made a post on here recently about some zoas I added to my tank. They seem to be open in the morning and throughout most of the day and close up at night. The gsp is closed in the mornings when I first check on it and throughout the day opens up. Is this normal? These are my first corals. They've been in the tank about 4 days. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Not sure. What are your tank parameters?
Nitrates, ammonia, ph, salinity are fine. I don't have any other testing kits but others have told me that with those corals it's not that necessary. Also stock lighting on a biocube so I know that's not ideal. Return pump and wave maker for flow.

100% normal, corals close up at night and open back up when the light turns on. Nothing to worry about! Try to look at them 30 mins before the light goes out then 30 mins after the light goes out, everything closes up!

Oh cool. Did not know that. My blue light must be fairly weak because the zoa starts to close up when they come on. It's also near the bottom of the tank. Thanks!

Both zoas and GSP were perfectly fine in my biocube. My GSP basically never closed, but the Zoas would frequently close up after lights out (but not during the blues). If it's only been 4 days, they might still be getting comfortable.

you are perfectly fine...this is natural as the others have posted. in my observations, it seams to take a few weeks before new stuff is comfy in the new environment. Lots for them to adjust to with water flow, light intensity, light patterns and your water quality and brand of salt. I've got some zoas I got about 3 weeks ago and some of them are just starting to open up...I've had other zoa's that the move from the LFS to my tank does not even faze them...Just keep observing and check back with us again...The only dumb question is the one not asked....We all have different skill sets and experiences. We are one big learning group because the ocean is a mystery.

Thanks. Yeah I'll keep an eye on them
