Youll find many reefers aim for upper half of tank but important is an area where it receives moderate light and good water flowHey y’all just curious on any thoughts or opinions for where to place my Gsp frag. Had it on the sand bed moved it to mid level looks like it’s doing good, any tips?

IMHO, you should keep it on a rock island in the sand, otherwise you risk the GSP taking over the entire rock structure.
An alternative that I am also currently doing is to mount it on synthetic rock that attaches to the glass. It keeps it off the permanent rock structure and lets you move it around wherever you want. An example that I like is found on amazon with the following search "Magnetic Reef Coral Frag Rack Floating Rock"
