New GSP frag just got delivered. I haven’t seen any polyps since it arrived this morning. My parameters are fine and all my corals are flourishing. How long does it usually take for GSP to open up? I heard it can take up to a week before you see polyps. I have mine placed closer to the top of my tank. Any feedback is welcome (:

If everything is good as early as a few hours.

Oh don't rush it, sometimes they take days. In a year from now you'll wish they stop opening..lol Once GSP takes hold it grows like weeds.

I got one from a LFS a few months ago and it took a little over a day to show any polyps. But now it’s spreading like a wild fire. Kind of thinking it wasn’t such a good idea.

You need to start to acclimate your frag slowly. Initiall, it is best to start off by as closely mimicking the lighting and parameters from where you purchased the frag. Then you can raise or lower the frag based on lighting needs, water flow and neighboring corals.

Haha I might place mine onto an island before it’s too late then.
