Hey there! I recently have bought and added a leather coral, some zoas, and a GSP. The zoas opened fine as did the leather but the GSP will not. It started to but then closed back up. Any suggestions? Right now I have him on top of a castle in hopes he covered it up eventually. Maybe try lower in the tank? Thanks in advance for help

Gsp are darn near indestructible. Just give them time. Mine would close up for days just from my shrimp walking on them. And in my experience they like moderate to high lighting.

Ahhh ok. They started to open then closed. I was confused. Lol. I know my zoas keep closing from shrimp walking on em

My experience with gsp is that it will close up like that if water paremeters change rapidly or if they are significantly different from where you got them. They always seem to open back up though and are hardy in a nutrient rich tank.

You might put them on an island. They spread rather quickly and as pretty as they are can get a bit outta control. But yes, just give them time
Yea that's why I put them on the little castle thing. Rather than get rid of if I figure they will cover it and make it look better than just having a live reef with random castle. Lol

Like everyone else has said, give them some time. I've had multiple pieces in my tank at once under exact same conditions (flow, lighting, etc). One piece will be open, the other closed for days at a time. I'd say it's the hardiest of the mentioned corals, so I wouldn't worry!

First few months, mine would open then close for a week or so. now that it has started to spread, it opens most days. But in beginning, it often went days closed.
