Having some issues with my gsp. I've had it for about a week and 1 or 2 polyps will come out but they go back in. I checked ammonia nitrite and nitrate and all are zero. Ph is 8.1 so idk why it keeps opening and closing

Occasional closing is normal for gsp; usually at night or after it gets agitated unexpectedly. Preferably, they'd be in the middle/ lower region of your tank receiving a flow that gently moves their fingers

It may also be acclimating to. Both the light and chemistry in your tank.
Most will put it in the bottom for light acclimation.

I've had difficulty with corals going from low alk to very high.

Idk what the alkalinity was at the store I got it from, that might be the problem

Just give it time to adjust. GSP is pretty much bulletproof IMO. I had it survive my tank being nuked, in a bucket with no light for 4 months with just a powerheads and no heater.

Just watch it though it can quickly spread and take over.

This is my little patch I try and keep trimmed.
