I’m new to coral and started with a frag of GSP from my LFS. Bought it almost 2 months ago and it looks great. Colorful and always out and moving in the currents all day. But after 2 months it doesn’t seem to have grown much at all, and I understand it’s supposed to be a fast grower. So after 2 months, should the growth be noticeable?
I replaced my lights a couple weeks ago because I was concerned i didn’t have adequate lighting. So I’m confident lighting is no longer an issue.
I do know my calcium level is a little low at 390 and I’m working on that. Could that be it, or is calcium not that critical for soft coral?
Other Parameters:
Salinity: 1.025
temp: 79
nitrate: <5 Maybe this is too low?
Phosphates: near 0
I use Salifert for tests.

I know GSP can become a nuisance, but right now I’m just trying to make sure I’m doing things right before I try my hand at some LPS.

Thanks,
mike

Could be lighting. I feel dirty giving advice on helping it grow. Mine is in the process of taking over half my tank. Slower growth down low and spreading like crazy up high with my kessils. It's bulletproof. I've been trying to burn it out of blast it with my powerhead and it is like a virus.
