So I bought a GSP frag yesterday night from my lfs. I floated the bag dripped for 30min, and then dipped, I also shot water on it while in the water with a turkey baster. This morning it started opening up, I could see a couple green dots, but I had to take it out of the tank to cut part of the plug, and glue it to the rock. It wasn’t out of the water for more than 45 seconds. It has been 7 hours and it still hasnt opened. My parameters are all good. The lighting is low for acclimating, and the flow is ideal.
I know it’s not a problem yet, but if it continues what should I do?

Mine took a whole month to open, now it’s the brightest coral in my tank

While hard to kill, they seem very sensitive to light changes.
I can make mine retract by just increasing intensity 10%.
Provided water chemistry is “reasonable” (GSP not demanding of light or water) I would not be concerned.

Funny. Thing for me with gsp. On my display can’t stop it. So I frag apiece put it in my frag tank that is mixed reef and has healthy sps and it dies. Go figure.

Success! The GSP is almost fully open today. I will try to attach a video, I think their is too much flow. Could you guys let
me know. If the video doesn’t work, the polyps are moving back and forth at a moderate pace kind of like what a frogspawn coral would look like.
