Yet another pricing thread. Everywhere I look around me gsp goes for $30 for a silver dollar size frag. I remember it being $30 for a huge slab. I know prices have increased but is this the going rate these days?

I can get a similar size frag of lps for the same pricr

Should be FREE. Unless you live in an area with a limited amount of reefers. In the philly burbs it's free, just liek xenia and kenya trees

That's what I thought as well but I can't find a soul around me with any of those. Every store wants $30 for a small frag. Kenya trees are even higher. There was a time in my life I couldn't give this stuff away. The store yesterday had a 4"x4" rock covered in xenia. How much? $80 a rock

Well. Stores have to keep their lights on, some cap-ex, and at the end of the day put some food on their table as well. If you really want it, just pony up the 30 bucks, no biggie.

It's amazing to see how much people/vendors are charging for a nearly bullet proof coral like this.
Especially when you see how many people like to bash it and spread rumors that it will destroy your tank.
I happen to like it and have it in my 233 in a couple places.
It does like to grow and grows in about the same way ( only faster) that many corals grow like favias and chalices.
It's easy to control with a couple different products like kalkwasser paste or aiptasia X.
The problem most people have with it, is they ignore it until it becomes a issue. By that time it may really be out of control.
