so I got a tiny piece of GSP from my lfs while picking up some hermits. It was sitting in the substrate with maybe 3 or 4 strans of bright green polyps. They gave it to me for free. Do you guys think it'll survive this is basically my first coral test run. I'll try and get a pic after acclimation.

I am sure it will be fine. I could tick in a cup to keep those.

Keep it away from rocks or you will have them everywhere. Do you at least have the purple skinned ones with the white eyes and short thick green "polyps"?

GSP is a great practice piece,, they are hardy and can take a lot of crap just give them good water flow and it takes care of itself. I love mine it goes three quarters of the front of tank about 3-4 inches wide,, looks like my reef has front lawn,, but you do have to keep eye on it or ur whole tank will be grass

Good info. I want to attach it to my back wall and see what happens. Will super glue work while submerged?

That's the exact look I had i mind. Nice. If I can get mine going it'll be a pretty decent free first coral.

I started with a good size mat. It wasn’t attached to anything except sand and for a while it just wouldn’t open up because it kept getting moved by flow or inverts. Once I got it in a place where it stayed put it has nearly doubled in size. I love the look of GSP and didn’t listen to the warnings about keeping it away from rock work.

It opened back up this morning but I had to get it better placement it was getting blasted by the a bit by the output nozzle.
