Always liked the look of gsp, but from the very beginning I have been told they are evil. I just never bothered with them because of that. I am thinking about getting some. Now I figure there is one of two ways I can go. Either just have a gsp tank, or some sort of bio control. I don't really just want to make an island for them. The real question has anyone had any coral that could keep them in place? I've been told some might, but never a certain answer.

frogspawn, for me, really all euphyllia. I have gsp on my back wall (still growing) and have frogspawn and hammers all around the base of my rock works.

That is one I have heard does that. Never tried it. I just want to do something different that the plain old island.

So I have the plain old island but as we all get busy from time to time. I let some reach the main rock structure. I use kalk paste to kill it off the rock. Wondering if you could use kalk as a maintenance routine during water changes to control growth.

I use a razor to cut it back, but I don’t have it on rock. If it got on my rock, I’d probably scrape it off.

GSP can grow out of control so it's best to devise a plan before it grows out of control. I try to make sure it grows near the walls so I can easily remove it to either sell, trade, or cover something else. Here is pic of a gsp covered whiskey bottle I tried for fun
