GSP

Just have a quick question. Is it normal for GSP to remain open all day and night. They only close for a couple of hours after light shut and right before they turn on.
All water parameters are in check.
the coloring looks okay until at night and hit with a quick flash then the look whiteish.
Purple mat is intact.
Any opinions?

It depends on the individual GSP and light settings. I'd say most of my GSP close up after sunset - but probably start opening just before sunrise. I do run my lights for 12 hours with several additional hours of moonlight. I also have a lot of "night life" that scampers around over everything, so that certainly encourages them to close up.

Mine was always open anytime I looked at it. Morning, noon or night.

I’ve stopped trying to figure out my GSP. The more establised gsp is It’s usually open though.
The frag prices Tend to close more often during lights out, but it seems random.

Same, mine will be open for weeks and then randomly close up for for a day or two for no reason. For reference the tank is 3 years old stable.
