Found this critter roaming the tank. Can’t get over its adorably large eyes. Is this some kind of amphipod?

I’m just waiting for an expert to chime in “yeah, that’s the gulf coast reaper; sure to wipe out your tank in 24 hours.”I honestly cant say but its cute as all get out lol

Idk, I was about to say that the body shape looks very similar to the “bad” one. There are no fish in this tank (yet) tho, so if it is a bad one will it starve?FYI yours looks harmless to me.
Just have to find it again lol. Great tip tho, I’ll give that a try!You can catch it and poke it, if it curls into a ball, then nothing to worry about.

I mostly see eyes and thought they kinda looked to the side but maybe not on that last image! There are so many types too.Ive noticed that YouTube takes a long time to make the video less blurry. It’s shot in 1080p, but you’d think I was using an old potato.Np! The images and video are bit blurry on my end so I can't really make out much lolJust some eyes.
I would not lose sleep over it either way. There are some that attach to fish.. little blood suckers... if this happens.. trap the fish and use a tweezer to remove it.

then again probably not with the cleaners.Haha it would figure wouldnt it? LolI’m just waiting for an expert to chime in “yeah, that’s the gulf coast reaper; sure to wipe out your tank in 24 hours.”
Appreciate the kind words! Hoping the macro algae continues to grow in, but the urchin is making that challenging. She doesn’t eat it, just drags it around everywhere.haha! Nice tank btw, very natural and interesting with that live rock
Might be able to bait it out with some fish food and suck it out with a tubethen again probably not with the cleaners.
Joking aside, apparently this might be a mildly harmful form of isopod. Just our luck!Haha it would figure wouldnt it? Lol
