I have had my frag tank set up now for a little over 3 months. The tank is drilled in the back. I set up my plumbing I had a gurgling issues with my overflow, did my research and was able to take care of the problem by building a durso stand pipe. Well yesterday I did some upgrading on the tank and built another durso stand pipe to have two over flows to the sump, I built the 2nd durso standpipe the EXACT same as the 1st and it's GURGLINg!?!? Any help from anyone? I can't figure out what to do to correct the problem.

The only difference between the 2 stand pipes is that one of them is made with bigger PVC but they are the exact same pieces.

probably not enough water is getting into the 2nd pipe is it the same height as the 1st one?

put ball valves on them and slow the flow to make it more even. one is probably getting more flow than the other and the one is pulling more air than water.

I have a ball valve and did a lot of adjusting and still couldn't get it, the reason I added the 2nd over flow was so I could turn the amount of water returning in the tank up so i could have more circulation other than my power heads :(, I see if they are the same height.

you need a ball valve on each drain to adjust them "balance" the system....also the pipes should not be more than 1" under the water line in the sump.. also you could have just ran a single drain and turned it into a full siphon which is a durso without the hole drilled in the top.... a single 1" drain can drain 3000+ gph when ran a full siphon...hth
