So just set up my tank rock water everything. So the problem im having that my over flow is making a gurgling noise and its loud i dont like that at all. Please how can i fix this?!

You can try. People suggested I use a valve, but it didn't work for me. Give it a shot (push it in and out until it stops). A small open hole was enough for me

It is hard to say why without any information about the problem. What type of drain are you using? Durso stand pipe? Did you buy the tank used or new? Who designed the plumbing????? Some good pictures can help explaining all the questions.

The tank is brand new. And i did put the valve in and it stop gurgling but now the over flow is still loud kinda. Sound more like rain

I havent ziptied the bottom yet because im just making sure everything works before i have to brake it down

so you have 3 pipes. Is that 1 for return and 2 for draining....1 for drain and 1 for emergency like Herbie style? like this one?

Still coming from the overflow right now im trying to adjust the speed of the return pump. Maybe i have it going to strong.

And thanks it took me a couple days to get it where i want it to be haha but i love my aquacape now

Yes ngvu1 the one on the far left is the emergency drain the one in the middle is the primary drain and the right is the return

I know you already got it, but...

How much actual flow are you sending through the drain?

Most of the time this is from too much flow. Gravity drains are dead silent when you run the right amount through them.

Either measure the flow out of your drain, or out of the return (whatever is more convenient) to see how much flow you're actually pushing.

If you can't, then estimate your head loss with a calculator like this:
http://www.freecalc.com/fricfram.htm

You would add the head loss from the calculator onto the vertical height you have to go from the sump-water to the top of the return, and then use the flow-curve published by your pump's manufacturer. You should get a pretty close number estimating this way unless you have really crazy plumbing.
