So I’m having a bad aiptasia outbreak in my main tank. I’ve carpet bombed it with Red Sea Aiptasia X about 10 times, it just grows back.

The other day I picked up a peppermint shrimp with high hopes. Despite both me and my LFS deciding it would probably be fine, my 4” tail spot wrasse found it in 30 seconds and utterly annihilated it. To the extent that a piece of shrimp drifted into an aiptasia and the aiptasia ate it.

I got a peppermint shrimp to eat aiptasia, and the aiptasia ate the shrimp.

I had better luck with F Aiptasia than Aiptasia X, although I understand with all of these products "results may vary".

Best method I ever had was blasting them with boiling water. But, that only worked when I didn't have coral growing everywhere.

I had luck with peppermint Shrimp the problem I had like you I couldn't keep them alive. I got a Copperband Butterfly and I haven't been able to find an Aiptasia. As long as I can keep him alive I feel confident in him keeping them away.

I understand that Berghia Nudibranchs offer a fairly expensive but total solution over time. I have never used them, but if I get an Aptasia uprising, they are my first go to.
