GXPKY'S 250g Double D

Precautionary tale...

Ok, first off...I broke down the 29 gallon I had at my barbershop Saturday after work. Gathered the livestock...a 2 1/2" blue hippo, 2 clowns, skunk cleaner shrimp, clean up crew, rock, etc, and headed home to acclimate.

After acclimation I began transferring the livestock to my tank.

Here is where things went BAD!!!!!
I scooped up the hippo tang for the 3 foot journey to the display with my bare hand and she (2 1/2 long fish) spurred me twice...just a dot of blood which I assumed was burning because of the saltwater.

Nope...soon my entire hand was on fire and for 3 days my body has ached. I thought I was going to end up in the ER to be honest, the pain for 7 hours before I drank enough to sleep it off would not ease up. Swollen hand for 3 days as well.

Hindsight is that Oxford studied tangs and just happens that one blue tang has a venom gland and so happens this is the species I own.

Anywho, keep this in mind, all it took was a tiny tiny dot of blood prik on the hand.

Anywho, here's some updated pics.

Much better thanks. I've had the clowns for a while in my 29 I had set up at my business, don't remember what they were called to be honest but they were tiny when I got them, now they are a few inches long or so.

That's awesome. I love clownfish. Mainly Ocellaris' but all-in-all they're great fish.

Well, the 100 gallon stock tank full of rock is now cycled. Moved the majority of the rock into the live rock tub under the display.

Fuge is set up and now plumbed in as well.

I'm a big fan of aquaculture colonies anywho.

2 pieces of wrasse are better than one.

Cool tub! Do you worry about detritus in those grooves?

Looking good!

I don't think those grooves will be an issue myself just wondering what you thought. :)
