As the title says, I have a Gyre 150 and half of it has much weaker flow than the other half (the A side being weaker than B).

I soaked and completely cleaned the whole unit, inspected all the parts, made sure the paddles are going the same way (A+B), even swapped cages, paddles, and bearings to no avail, still the one side is very weak compared to the other. In the same breath, the side that is working correctly is stronger after the cleaning. When I have the cages off, both paddles move like they should.

I have the programming on how i always do, pulsing forward at about 60% a few seconds apart. What am I missing here?

I have had 2 of the smaller model. In both cases the white square rods coming out of the motor wore down the square black pieces that they fit into making the square fittings slightly round. Without a tight fit,you get less or slower spin. I junked them and went back to my MP 40s. Way less hassle at cleaning time.

that makes sense if its rounded and not catching fully, go figure thats not one of the replacement pieces.
Are the correct impeller's in? I first time I cleaned mine I accidentally swapped the left for the right and week flow. Not to mention my first one came from the factory with forward flow on one side and reverse flow on the other. That have me very week flow on one side. Switched out the impeller and it was perfect.

Yes they are, A on the left and B on the right, both pointing and spinning in the same direction. Unfortunately, the shaft is spinning fairly freely in the bushing. I dont have the rugged propeller and can't seem to find replacements without upgrading.

Oh that sucks. I don't know if it's ok to put scotch tape in a reef tank but if you wrap a piece around the shaft it might tighten it up.

The replacement blades are pretty cheap, I had to replace one set of squire things. What I did was scavenge one of the B blades for the square thing.

I even tried black electrical tape as it's thicker and more water proof. Didn't work. The shaft just spins too hard and fast.

Post the question in the coralvue forum and see if Chris or Carlos can give you some thoughts and what needs to be replaced.
