gyre 280 apex controlability

Has anyone out there figured out a DIY solution to make the gyre 280 apex controllable? apparently the commercial apex interface only works with the smaller models.

Thanks. The controller that comes with it is a PIA and I like to coordinate it with the other pumps. Looks like the new hydros wave engine will do it but it would be nice to find a more cost effective method that doesn’t need all the other features the wave engine has
