Very specific question here for those who have run both 200s and 300s:

Is there any improvement in the 300s in terms of maintenance, "forgivability"?

I've run the 250s for years. I'm tiring of the overly delicate and clumsy parts (bushings, doors, shafts). I can't get more than 2mos before one stops running or gets insanely loud. Love em when clean and running but tiring of the hassle.

Has anyone here run both? Are the 300s ANY easier on this score?

Or is it not really an upgrade/change worth pondering?

I had the original gyres, xf150 I think. They were good. Maybe 6 months without cleaning. Max a year. Once the ceramic bushings start to fail I felt the last 150 I had was more maintenance but it was approaching 2-3 years of age.
The two x350s on my tank now have been running 4 months with no issues.

got 2 280's for 180 gallon .
bit to much so they are running both at 40% .
no issues maybe because they don't have to go at a full 100%
cleaning is once in 2 months.
