Gyre 300

I was reading a few threads and one had a link to another forum - I just copied and pasted what the info was. Hope that is ok.

From the UK Plant site:
The New Maxspect gyre 300 Series will be officially launched over the weekend the first shipment of these super quiet gyes will be arriving early December with pre orders being taken from retailers now.

New features are as follows:

SINE WAVE motor technology allowing the 300 series to run at near silent levels.

Improved motor / magnet design and cable positioning.

New Flow Director attachment that enhances water flow direction allowing more precision within the aquarium. The attachment also shields the cages and rotors from light slowing down algae growth and therefore reducing maintenance time. Another feature of the flow director is the gyre can be positioned closer to the surface improving surface agitation without creating vortices.

Easier to adjust flow cages.

Improved App with new custom wave mode.

Smaller footprint within the aquarium.

I am wondering if there will be a controller firmware update based on that note about new wave modes.

I’m wondering if there will be actual significant improvements or just a cover over the cage being the only real improvement

I don't understand the example of what you had said

I’m wondering what improvements the 300 series gyre will have over the 200 series. Is it just going to be a 200 series with a cover or are there going to be significant changes.

I own the icecap 3k and maxspect 230. I can say with confidence when it comes from a noise perspective the maxspect runs silent compared to the icecap.

I’m wondering if it will be worth upgrading from my 200 series to this new 300 series pump.

Thank u so much now its all became clear to me

I think they said motor change and/or improvement and some other things on the controller. The copy/paste I did mentioned some of it.

Any ideas if the new covers will retrofit the 200s? Seems like a pretty cool feature, but I just got a 250 on black Friday lol

Any ideas when the 300 series will be available in USA? Suppliers are out of XF250's and 300 series not available yet. Kind of in limbo if you're needing a gyre now.

I'm in the say boat, I'm putting together the setup for my new tank and I would prefer to buy the latest model but I cannot find any info on when and how much on the new 300 series.

I talked to one supplier in US and they said April. So I just bit the bullet and bought an MP40. I feel dual gyres May have been over kill for my tank and a single and control probably is more than a MP 40. So they lost a sale by dragging out this US release

Getting frustrated waiting for these. Especially when the rest of the world has had them for months.

You can get them from cananda but I’m not sure if you will get hit with an import fee. I purchased a model airplane from cananda a few years back and got a bill in the mail a few weeks later.

I emailed a retail shop in Canada about buying one and never heard anything back from them. I've seen a couple of the XF330 now showing up on eBay so I think we should start seeing them here soon if I had to guess.

I got a response pretty quickly from JL aquatics in Canada but they weren’t sure if there would be import charges so I decided to not take a chance

Makes no sense. Just ask them to buy it. Ship from their house to yours. Mark gift, problem solved. I mean people are having prescriptions sent over to Canada and having them shipped back to save money on some drugs...

Edit: if you can wait till then do so - people will upgrade and sell their current XF's for cheap. Also others will be switching just out of frustration that they can't upgrade the current ones they own (XF line) due to motor/controller not being backward compatible.
