I’ve had a couple corals where low flow has allowed detritus to settle, so I increased the intensity on both my WAV and Gyre to see if it helps keep the corals clean. As a result, the Gyre is now creating a vortex sucking in air from the surface. This is happening off and on a couple times per minute and injecting air bubbles into the tank. Not sure if I should turn it down or perhaps lower the Gyre to prevent this, or if the bubbles don't really matter?

If you’re ok with bubbles they don’t really matter. A skimmer is full of them... I might try lowering the pump a inch or so.

Edit: My MP40 did that when it kicked up the speed and lowering helped.

That has happened to me to, I ended lowering it slightly which helped slow it down. But my initial flow was too high for the tank so lowering the speed/flow helped. But I wouldn't trade that pump for a regular powerhead at all. Good luck!

It looks like you have it mounted upside down or cages are on wrong side. Either flip the gyre over or swap cage assemblies left to right.

It turns out I reversed the rotors by mistake the last time I took it apart for cleaning, so I just now swapped them back and it's working normally again.
