I currently have one gyre on my ProStar 90 tank that flows the length of the tank. (Marked in red in the photo). It can be adjusted to have the ends blow in different directions, but I have them both pointed in the same direction. Currently I am noticing debris building up in the lower left under the gyre (circled in green in the photo). I am wondering if there is a better spot for the gyre, or possibly getting a second one.

I was thinking of maybe getting another one and instead of having them flow from side to side, they could go back to front as indicated in yellow.

Is it better to go side to side length wise, or back to front?

Open to suggestions. The big thing I am trying to get sorted is making sure nothing can settle on the bottom.

Yellow is best and typical location - Back wall

I would probably add a second (identical) gyre and place it opposite the other one. Alternately you can run both on either side of the overflow (front to back) as has been suggested as well.

How you have your rock work positioned can greatly influence which may work best for you. On my tank I have a wide overflow and dual returns that create a lot of circulation where the (yellow) gyres would be so I've opted for the (red) locations.
