Gyre Magnets for 3/4 inch glass

The reefwave 45 and xf350 both state 3/4 as max thickness, anyone have experience with both and know which magnet is stronger?

The XF280 says up to 1-1/4 inch glass, but looks like an older model, what was updated in the 350, like the magnet but curious about what was lacking?

I had the iceCap 3K on my 1"+ thick acrylic on tank and held just fine.

That's strange, but good to know.

I just purchased 4ks and about to return because my tank is 3/4. The box reads "for glass or acrylic aquariums up to 5/8 in"..
