Just picked up one of these from aquarium concepts in hayward california. I was running a jebao wp40 thing started losing power after about 8 months of use. I have a 60 gallon truvu 36 length soon as i put the gyre in the tank you could tell the difference almost instantly. I put it only at 15 and my corals have great flow. Keep you guys updated .

I assume you mean the 150? (or did they release a smaller size that I don't know about??) Either way, they are great water movers. I had the 150 on my 60g for about 6 months before upgrading to a 105g. The pump is still going strong running at 30% pulse.

I picked up the Gyre 130 yesterday. Looking forward to using it with my MP40.

I don't think so. Gyre for laminar flow and the MP40 for random flow. Others have used both before. I'm planning on placing them perpendicular to each other. Gyre along the side and MP40 dead center along the back. Should give me the best of both. At least that is what I am hopeful for.
