I highly recommend that everyone clean their Gyres frequently.

My tank upgrade is relatively young ~5 months and clean my Gyres when they look dirty.

Well you need to clean them more frequently!

I was noticing coral issues and was checking all my equipment. Well long story short, even though the Gyres looked nice a clean, the flow was super weak.

Has anyone found a good maintenance schedule for these?

I do a citrus bath once a month for 5-10 minutes and a quick scrub with a brush.... and then a tear down every 6 or so, this keeps them in good shape. There is certainly a degradation in performance when not maintained regularly.

I have 2 xf330s and find even after cleaning them they slow down within a week to what looks like 50% of full strength. At this point I brush them almost nightly and give them a citrus bath once a month. Getting fairly frustrated with how quickly the performance falls off honestly.

complete brush every 2 months, when they get noisy. at that time, I evaluate flow to be at about 60-70% of a clean one, which is still enough for my corals. I run them in random flow, with limited strength at 50% at night. Got 2x icecap 3k on a 6ft tank.
