Alright so I have a question I have a 65g and I am wondering if instead of two powerheads running a single gyre. Or if you would still need to run two?

I'd want a gyre type flow pump in the mix, either way.

im in the great debate right now between maxspect/icecap, reefwave, or a single mp40 i have an acrylic tank that is .5" thick so i cant run two mp10s like i was originally planning to

I run two gyres in my 65 gallon. I started with one and needed to add a second one to my liking to keep everything clean. With only one I had dead spots and buildup of debris.

what gyres do you run? are they on the same side or opposing?

I'm running a RW-25, the first controller box went bad during the first week.
Red Sea USA sent a new controller box and it has ran flawless ever since.

Even if had mps, I still like a gyre flow type pump, in the mix. To me, they are two different tools for two different type of flow patterns.

My first original gyre 130 lasted 5 years, but these newer models are great and the Red Sea ReefBeat app is wonderful.

I would think you would be happy with any of those three brands.

Good luck!!

The maxspect 230's. I run them on opposite sides off one controller using random flow on one and the opposite random flow on the other.

I originally tried on on the back wall, then on the side wall and it wasn't working out. And that is with a pretty open rockscape.

alright thanks for the reply guys. Do you think running one reef wave 45 would suffice instead of running two? im trying to keep a cleaner look in the tank which is another reason im looking at gyres because of how close you can get them to the surface

or even an xf350. i am really interested in the jump line i was looking at the mj-gf4k

Might add another RW-25 on my 110 (down the road) because my montis block a lot of the flow.

How about two RW-25s... :D

I have a custom tank and its a eurobrace so im just trying to figure out how to run the wires and everything out of the tank. i just picked up a COR15 for 200$ NIB on ebay and I have an apex i wish there was a gyre that worked with the apex system a bit better than the icecap from what ive been reading
