Hello,

I'm starting up another tank after about a 3 year break. I plan on using a Maxspect Gyre XF280; however, I have to replace the motor block due to some urchin damage to the wire. I can't seem to figure out how to separate the motor block from the magnet mount that it is attached to. Anyone know how to do this?

I believe it should slide out or that mount pulls apart?
The XF280 is built differently than the other two in the series. The magnet mount is a single piece. I’ve tried banging it on the counter while holding the motor block with no luck.
None of the Coral Vue videos show the dismantling of the 280….. i can’t find videos on YouTube either, very odd.

Have you reached out to CoralVue?

Do you have the new motor block now? Maybe the mount comes with this version of the motor block? Do you have a pic from the back side?

I just received confirmation from Coral Vue that the Motor Block and the magnet mount are a single unit. Hopefully, this thread will help others.
