Hi guys,
Is this normal for the Gyre XF350 to make this noise? I have in random mode and the noise is terrible I can hear it front 20 feet away. The nose changes on the speed of the pump.
Is there a way to make them quiet?
Im ready to just order Ner 7 pumps and call it a day. I have a 6'x2'x28" tank.

The blades are prob rubbing against the cage. Take them apart and reseat everything. Can take a couple of tries..

this seems like the motor sound the cages are clean. Look at the video.

I am experiencing same problem . One pump is sil and other making hammery noise . Took it for cleanning , reset — same problem .
have you be able to fix it?

I spoke with BRS this morning and they said they will send me a new pump... Lets see how this will happens.

neros provide good wide flow?

Yes I like the nero7 i only run it at 40-60% its pretty powerful and most of all its silent :)

any issues with ur nero 7s? im about to get a waterbox 290.6 (72.3x29.5x25.6). I was looking into getting the maxspect gyres, but I'm thinking about going with nero 7s instead.

worn bushings or things being assembled too snug or off-center after maintenance was a constant problem when i was running gyres too.
life is better since jumping to mp40's.

my tank is 19mm thick glass. I heard people have issues with mp40s sometimes vibrating on that thickness (not always). Would love to try mp40s, but I'm not buying no mp60s lol. Way too expensive.

i don't blame you. Not to mention an mp40 is generally powerful enough for most of our tanks.
The spec's say the magnets should be strong enough for 3/4 glass which is right where you're at.

yeah i was thinking about maybe 2 ai orbit 4s on back wall sideways. then putting an ai nero 7 on each side.

More I think about it I dont think 2 pumps would be enough tanks huge.
