Only reason I say that is because aquatic collection sold me the purple with green tips for $120 and Neptune aquatics sold me the green with purple tips for $200. Also when I buy from aqua dreams I usually make an offer and get it a lot lower.
Yeah shops move them along at the typical mark up. Probably because mags have a tough time transitioning to captivity and they don’t want that liability hanging around their shop. You guys are pretty spoiled on the west coast, you seem to get the best picks when they arrive in the states. I feel like we hardly see any in TX and when we do they’re pretty bland. I’ve given up on my LFS and watch the west coast shops that are willing to ship.

Yes, here in Northern CA, magnifica are fairly common. We also get our pick of different color morphs. Aquatic Collection gets lots of anemones, so if you're interested, just give them a call.

If you guys are looking for nems definitely let me know! prices on the website are always just thrown on there always contact me for what’s available and for deals and shipping quotes:) I’m just really good at sourcing the hard to find nems from a few over seas distributors. I was actually supposed to be receiving a Sri Lanka shipment yesterday of 11 magnificags but sadly flight was canceled this is almost like the new norm for Lanka shipments for me same thing happened a few weeks ago :(

I will DEFINITELY be contacting you soon ish. Actually have some questions for you as well regarding some nems.

Not sure if you’re still looking but just stumbled across one:

I've never heard of this vendor. Anytime a vendor has an anemone listed, but has a picture of the wrong species that is for sale I tend to not trust it as a good source ;Facepalm I guess it's always worth a shot if you're ok with not knowing what you're going to get.

I'm not saying that this vendor does this, but I've seen quite a few that list anemones on their site but they don't actually have them in their facility. Once ordered, they look for the anemone at wholesalers and exporters. I know of one vendor that is notorious for doing this, particularly with harder-to-find anemones.

Sometimes these websites don't even have facilities, they act as middle men connecting consumers to wholesalers. I knew a guy in my town who had one of these websites (not sure what it was called or if it's up and running anymore. Heck, this could be it as far as I know) where he basically wrote code that forwarded on the list of animals for sale and their price (with a multiplier applied) from a wholesaler and allowed people to place orders with the wholesaler. The wholesaler would then package up and ship the livestock directly to the consumer. Basically acting as an Amazon reseller of livestock. There are several risks associated with buying this way.... Best to stick with your LFS IMO or a WYSIWYG online vendor.

Neptune charges $2000 for BTAs sometimes. In my experience I see magnificas priced consistently across bay area fish stores.

Bought one from all about fish for 180
Bought one from aquatic collection for 120
Bought one from Neptune for 200
Bought one from everything salty for 150.

As for online, I bought a gig that was priced at 350 and for an accepted offer for 275.

Imo, I would pay $$$$ for mags, but market price seems to be in the 100-200

The Bay Area makes sense. You guys have plenty of nice stock constantly available. Unique Corals used to sell tank raised mags for over $1,000. I personally think the nice colored mags are worth every penny. Just like BTAs, common colors shouldn’t be expensive, nice ones are fair to fetch a higher price. Just my opinion.

Yup. I honestly feel like I got a steal. I would have paid $500 + for the current colors I have.

I agree with this but the site has a live chat, could ask for pictures? My Ritteri came from an eBay (UK) seller who I emailed and asked for better pictures etc as he had 4 in stock and only 1 picture. He sent me all 4 photographed, all in good health - I also asked for mouth photos and some slight questioning of his knowledge led me to believe he was a good seller, and I must say it was WYIWYG and the best anemone I could have hoped for in terms of health.
