I am having a hard time finding regular concentrated bleach without fabric protection, splashless and other added polymers. Thinking of using 12% food grade H2O2. Does anyone see an issue with this?

@JCOLE doesn’t want to add anything to his socks that can potentially enter and harm his tank. That’s why he’s concerned about using h202 with socks.

I switched to Reef Diaper. No washing, no chance of cross contamination.

Those are nice but I have 7" socks and it will get pretty costly buying new ones monthly.

Peroxide will work. Ive done it. Anything without acids or fragrants

I know that you already stated that you are having trouble sourcing regular bleach in your area. I do not put bleach in my washer directly. I only put bleach into a bucket of water and put my socks into this bucket. They soak in the bucket while I add other socks throughout the month. About once a month I take the continence of the bucket and put it into the washer with nothing else. Wash, extra rinse, reuse...
Using this method I use very little bleach throughout the month.
I thing H2O2 could also be used in this same way but in my area this would be prohibitively expensive.

Won't h2o2 turn to water not long after being exposed to air constantly? I've had to resort to generic bleach as Clorox is not just bleach anymore.

What about outdoor cleaner at home Depot ? I think it's just bleach

If you are concerned about ingredients in bleach, then peroxide is a fine product to use.

I'm not sure there's any issue with components of bleach, since you rinse well anyway, but food grade peroxide has less to worry about.

Something in bleached socks makes my skimmers go nuts when installed. This after 2 rinse cycles. Noticed last load the bleach I had been using was Clorox with whatever they add to it

I wouldn't necessarily assume that is related to nonbleach materials in the bleach.

Fabric softeners often get caked into the dispenser department and leaches into the socks. I’ve found that cleaning that softener department and not using fabric softener anymore (not even for clothes) completely stopped the skimmer problem for me.

I don’t use any bleach.
