Hi All,
I received a live rock covered with Cyphastrea. Unfortunately the rock is too big but its formed in a way where I can cut it in 3 pieces with a hacksaw. Looking at previous posts, it looks like you cut it with a hack saw if it was a dry rock. I'm curious if there's any danger using a hacksaw on a live rock where possible metal pieces may get into the tank after cutting? TIA.

I haven't used a hacksaw, but I do use a tile cutter. I use a glass cutting blade and have also used a diamond blade. I think If you use a diamond blade or similar and make sure to rinse with freshly prepared saltwater mix, maybe even iodine to disinfect - I wouldn't be worried about any metal... but that's just me. I'm no expert only been doing this for 20+ years...
looking forward to hearing others - good luck, keep us posted :-)
