Anyone ever taken a hack saw blade to pukani inside a tank? I have a couple of spathulata which I gave prime real estate only to encrust and stay brown. I'm thinking 10 minutes with a new hacksaw blade would do the trick. I'm loathe to use bone cutters as the breaks are uneven and would damage nearby desirable corals. Thoughts?

Good way to scratch the tank and possible damage other corals.

It's a big tank and the spots are within 6" of the surface. It's also far away from the glass. I'm not talking like a full on saw, just the blade and some electrical tape. Looking for ideas on how to cut rock cleanly. Bone cutters break randomly, that's the biggest chance of damaging other corals.

I've seen it done on YouTube videos. Think they used a special stainless steel saw and blades. I'm sure my hacksaw would poison my whole tank if I put in the water.

Let's all say this out loud "this is a stupid idea!" But I know anyone who has tried using bone cutters know how terrible they are for doing precision cuts. I may try nibbling away at some parts, but in the end a pair of slippery cutters being forced to crush rock in a glass box is also a stupid idea... Maybe a diamond coated piano wire? Do they make such a thing?

See video about 4 minutes in. maybe you could post question about the saw used?
