So I get home from work and walk into my office to check out the new Jason Fox corals I received yesterday from the live sale and noticed there was some water on the floor. Upon further examination it was everywhere! The rug was soaked. I pulled it up and there was water all over my wood floors. So then I started looking for the source. Noticed the ATO was empty so I checked the salinity and it was down to 1.020 so obviously it wasn't the ATO tank because it had completely dumped into the tank. Checked the ALK it was down to 7.6 for 9.8. The corals were all ticked off!
So I tossed an extra dose of ALK in and started cleaning water. After an hour I cleaned up every bit of water and could not find a leak anywhere. Hooked to my reef tank is a frag tank that is 24X3X10. I finally figured it had to have come from there, but I could not find a leak anywhere and after it was dry there was no water anywhere after 30 minutes. :der:
So I started looking again and noticed the melanarus wrasse I have in the frag tank was missing. I knew he had not gotten in the floor because I had just spent and hour cleaning it up. The drain is an elbow. Somehow that stupid fish had gotten in the drain and gotten stuck. Overflowed the tank and then finally got pushed through into the sock in the sump. Through all that he was still alive! He was beat up but he ate and looks like he will make it.
Just when I thought I had been through every type of plumbing leak known to man a stupid fish clogs my drain.
