Should I be concerned? I did a search and there doesn't seem to be too much information, but my blue this morning started to close itself up and retreat under the sand.

Nothing has changed in the tank (I did add a new small haddoni on the left, but this had already happened), levels are all good (Nitrate 5, PH 8.1-3), and (most importantly I think) the other haddonis are open and happy. The blue didn't come in in great shape, but has been getting better since I first got it, so I'm not sure what to think here.

And look who is back bright and early with the sun this AM.

Still curious to hear if anyone has any ideas on why that would have happened. Only real article I saw said if they feel threatened they can retreat, but I doubt that was the case here.

that's really rare to see this happen.usually they just shrink when they feel not so good. btw how thick is the sand in your tank ?

Haddoni does this sometime. If he go back to normal the next day then there is no need to be concern. Mine never does this more than 1 day at a time.

I've had Haddoni do this before as well. Usually a few hours.. not sure why, but being sand dwellers I'd imagine they do this often in they wild for safety.

My theory was always that it was just the nems way of throughly cleaning itself, but that was just from my observations.

Yeah, completely back to normal in a day. Mouth is still too open and it's not as sticky as it should be, but hopefully it will keep improving.
