Long story short a local friend living on the shore was evacuated and dropped off all his corals so i've been trying to keep them alive for him. One of his corals is a haddoni and while it was comfortable for the first few days, it is now on the move. What the heck am I supposed to do? I'm seriously afraid that it's going to start killing stuff (mine and his) or head into a powerhead. SHould I shut my pumps off until I can move some stuff into my smaller and near full system? I was without power for a few days and lost a few pieces. I don't want to lose anymore  If you guys/gals have any ideas, please lmk. thanks, frank.

Anyway to put a basket around the nem?Might stop it from moving around.

I don't have anything to cover it up but will try to get something. I had it in an in tank refuge but the guy got bored and is slowly climbing out. Do they move very fast? I'm seriously thinking about shutting down my circulation in the morning so the threat of it getting caught in a pump will atleast be avoided. I'm guessing there will be no flow for about 10 hours while I'm away at work.

Never had a Haddoni. My RBTA can move pretty far in a days time. How will your tank be without flow for 10 hours?

I found a really large fish net, put him back into the in tank refuge and covered it up. Hopefully that will do the trick until my friend can come back next week and pick up his collection. Shutting off the pumps for 10-12 hours might stress the rest of the corals to the point of death, especially after an emergency transfer and a loss of power for almost 3 days. Trying my hardest to keep his stuff healthy. It's bad enough that he lost so much because of Hurricane Sandy. I don't want to add to his misery by losing anything else  Thanks for the ideas everyone and wish me luck :clap2:

good luck Frank. hope everything pulls through for both of you.

Thanks Marvin, how've you been? Still working on keeping everything alive but at least with power I can give the corals and fish a fighting chance. There are still so many without power or generators that are in worse situations. The Haddoni is behaving himself so I removed the net (didn't want to irritate it). Both my friends' Haddoni and my Rbta started roaming after the outage and temp drops but are now settling back. Going to do small water changes each day and hope for the best for the rest of the pieces. Only thing irritating me now is my wrasse scattering sand all over my friends corals. I have to keep blowing off sand of his plates, acans and blastos. One of his plates was melting though and had to remove it

Haddoni's are surprisingly fast and fairly particular about where they reside, I think more so than other anemones. Usually when they are roaming they are looking for the perfect flow and light combo. One of the biggest things I can think of to is if you can dig a spot down to the bottom glass and place him there plus get him in some decent flow and, if you have the ability to focus a light source on him he may stay put. If you can't do that place guards on your power heads and make sure he doesn't climb out.
