I'm losing my mind with this hair algae and brown algae no matter how much I manually remove it, it just keeps coming back im not sure what to do. I do my normal water changes as recommended I do my water tests which shows no2 and po2 at good levels but then again algae hides those true numbers someone help please

I think that is mostly cyano but it is hard to tell. I would make sure to use a high quality RODI system for water changes. Then get a good clean up crew, siphon out what you can, and grow some corals. Eventually cyano will go away.

I am not a fan of chemical means to eliminate cyano. I don’t believe it works long term. Others will disagree.

Cool shrimp!

that tank would be easy to fix with a disassembly cleaning, nothing could beat that for results. no doser, no adjustment, clean the sandbed clean the rocks (a different way than prior) and the tank will look fixed up the right way. it will not produce as much algae when clouding is removed from the sandbed and the rocks during the adjusted cleaning move

after new cleaning ops, you would reassemble a perfectly clean reef via skip cycle ordering and it would run just fine.

I read an article regarding some kinds of algae that will grow back faster after water changes. I don't think that refers to the hair algae issue but more in the lines of dino algae. We had an issue with dino and after installing a UV, the dinos are gone. I also don't use chemicals in our tank. I did not help much but hope that you can find the answer.
