I have several clove polyps that I have fragged and put in different spots in my 75 DT. It seems that hair algae follows wherever they go. I am beginning to think that the Clove polyp must give off nutrients that grow hair algae. Has anyone else seen this?

My Tank:
PH 8.1
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
Po4 .1 ( this has always made me think this is it)
Dkh 8
Calcium 440
Magnesium 1350
Lights ramp up to 90% between 8am and 10 am. 90% 10- 5PM. 5-7 ramp down to zero.

I have Switched this tank to aquaforest zeo tank (whole different story) and the nutrients are dropping as expected. Part of that regiment is an additive that helps control HA which is starting to work. However I am beginning to think also the clove polyp likes it.

I trim it back once a week and try to catch all the trimmings with a net. I also wonder if the trimmings I miss will start growing elsewhere? I have no HA except around the Polyps. Any advice would be Much appreciated! Thanks

ive never seen it happen.
A picture of the algae would be good.

I wonder if detritus is settling among the polyps, giving the algae nutrients... I believe this can happen with any matting coral especially, like zoanthinds, gsp, etc
