Hair Algae and Vermetid Snail?

Hello all. After searching numerous threads to help ID a couple things in my tank, I'm still having trouble confirming what I'm seeing due to a lot of conflicting information/opinions. So I'm hoping I can get some help confirming the following and see if anything should/can be done. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Is this Hair Algae? It's on the glass, back wall, and rocks:

Some background/parameters:

Im on day 21 of cycling my Red Sea Reefer 350, and using the Red Sea Mature Starter Kit

Salinity 1.025
Nitrite .02 ppm
Ammonia 0
Nitrates 50 ppm
I am running lights (2 Kessil AP9X's) on an 8 hour schedule per recommendation of the Red Sea Mature Kit.
Sump: Clarisea filter roller, chaeto, protein skimmer.

Your cycle is complete, you need to turn your lights out and change out the water to get rid of the nitrates. Aim for about 3-5ppm nitrate and 0.03 phosphates.

Can't see vermitid snail, but they need to be introduced somehow and I assume you used dry rock becuase you mentioned cycling.

Thanks. I used caribsea life rock and 2 pieces of live rock from my LFS. The photo with the clear tube coming out of it was one of the LFS rock's.

You probably didn't need to be buying stuff to cycle the tank with.
Do you have a better photo of the suspected vermetid snail?

If you have them you might want to be prepared to live with them.

What do you mean buying stuff to cycle the tank with? Are you referring to the mature kit? Will try to get a better pic.

You mentioned cycling with the rea sea mature.
If you're using live rock of anything over 5lbs you have an instant ready to go tank and adding anything else in my opinion is a waste of money (correct me if I'm wrong here @brandon429 ).
This has likely sent your nitrates sky high which combined with a light source has resulted in the nice growth of some unwanted algae.

To correct this you need to do a water change to lower your nutrients, get a good CUC, kill your lights, or all of the above.

You mentioned a fuge, how much time are you running the lights for and how is the chaeto doing from a growth perspective?

Yes but that was purely to provide as much information as possible. My post was in regards to identifying the things shown in the pictures/videos. Not in regards to the cycle. As mentioned my nitrites are not yet at 0. But if you feel that my cycle is complete based on the info provided I'll follow your recommendation thank you.

Also I added the 2 pieces of live rock after reading it would be helpful in developing a more diverse bacteria population if cycling with only dry rock. I didn't think it was necessary initially as caribsea states curing is not necessary and that the dry rock is ready to add.

CUC is en route.

Running a Kessil H380 in my fuge for 6 hours daily. Chaeto has been growing like crazy.

Yeah that was an assumption as I noted.
The chaeto should do a good job of lowering your nitrate, just remember to keep harvesting it.
I would still do a water change to help things.
You don't need to worry about the small traces nitrite.

In terms of cycle, there wouldn't have been one.

CUC will tackle the algae along with the chaeto growth and your routine water changes.

As for the vermetid snals, there definitely isn’t one in that pic. Vermetid snails are short stumpy little tubes, with a wider base where the attach to the rock. I have seen them up to about 1/3" from base to tube tip, but they obviously start smaller.

What that clear tube in the picture is I am not sure. Is it still there or has it now moved?

Again I appreciate the help! Just a couple more quick questions for you if you don't mind.

1. What percentage water change should I do? 25% sufficient?
2. Any input on the other issue I mentioned? Is that hair algae?

The clear tube is still there, it doesn't seem to move. I included another picture and video of the long clear tube looking thing, this is on another part of the asme
rock and there are numerous ones in one spot. I'm assuming it's nothing to be overly concerned about so I'll just keep an eye on them for now.
