This will sound weird but hear me out.

I love my sea hare and was thinking of getting a second. Currently I have called caulerpa in my refugium to feed him when I run out of algae in my display tank, however I want to vary the diet and as such want to make a hair algae culture in a second tank, here are my questions.

How can I get it to grow, should I use a reef light or a standard swirly bulb?

Should I go with a small 5 gallon tank or should I attempt at building an algae scrubber?

How do I "feed" the algae to make it grow larger? Knock on wood, but thanks to my clean up crew I've never experienced nuisance algae (minus the brown stuff during a cycle).
Thanks for your help

Also, as far as starting culture goes I can get plenty from my neighborhood "pet shmoo"

Nori? I had one for over a year who ate primarily nori. He injured himself and died trying to navigate his way under a baffle in the refugium. He might have lived much longer.

I could try that, but I wanted to give him something real as I like to spoil my fish when it doesn't cost too much
