I would be cautious of Sallys. Cool to look at and watch. I have had one that turned predator and killed my Coral Banded Shrimp and Scarlets.

I had the exact opposite of your situation. I had two clowns that waited for me to leave town, and they would eat everything. I was proud of those guys when the went after a lobster, and eat that one too.

Lettuce nudibranchs will likely get pulled into a powerhead if you are running a reef. They don't hang on that well.

Had a very large haire that got sucked into my power head and he was about 9 inches or so.

The best thing I found for hair algae would a rabbit fishthey will take care of that problem

I had a raging hair algae problem... I tried everything: I cut feedings to every other day, ran carbon and gfo reactors, carbon dosing, hermit crabs. Nothing really worked.

Got a sea hare, it had my 75g spotless after 2 weeks. The shop allowed me to return him for half my money back. He started tearing through the algae within 5 seconds of getting into the tank.

I've heard of people having them die, but mine was just fine. I've heard maybe smaller ones aren't as hardy?

Also, telling people you "rented a slug this weekend" is pretty funny haha

I am surprised that I haven't seen this response. Anytime I have had green hair algae, I just added several hermit crabs. Red legs are better, but blues works as well. I have never had a problem with hermit crabs, and are usually a staple invertebrate in my tanks. Whenever I have had an outbreak, I would add 1 per gallon for tanks under 20, and anywhere from 10-20 on larger tanks. You won't see an immediate effect, but within a week or two, your GHA should be gone.

A lot of good suggestions and I usually say a good balanced CUC. What I didn't see mentioned though is a lawnmower blenny. Your basic one fish algae wrecking machine. Plus as most reef fish go they are unusual looking.

Plus I always say with hair algae start by pulling it out and/or using a soft toothbrush. If you have it bad without that probably nothing is going to eat it all.
