Hair algae + hammer coral

I have been having some trouble with hair algae. I have been holding back feeding, trying to starve it out. In the meantime, my hammers are starting to turn a brownish color at the bottom. It looks more pronounced when they retract. Sorry for the dark photo, but nighttime seems the best to capture this issue.

Any suggestions on what I can do to improve the situation?

Id say peroxide spray the area with algae. Im having the same problem with a montipora now! Hate hair algae. Ill be q tipping the hair algae soon
