Any tips for getting hair algae out the sand without losing your sand with it??

Any tips for getting hair algae out the sand without losing your sand with it??

Scrape bottom gently with edge of an old credit card OR plastic scraper and lift out by hand into a net and discard.
Reduce white light intensity and add some snails such as Nassarius, astrea, nerite and margarita

No am not by any windows, thought my lights were already pretty low. 40% blues & 20% whites.
