hey peeps

how fast do you feel that that 8 trochus snails demolish hair algae in a 19G tank?

cheers guys

Thanks will have to look for one will they take other food as well?
Yes, mine is a fatty. He will swim up and even push other fish out of the way for pellets of either fish food or algae in addition to scrubbing rocks.

Mine never cared much for GHA that was long.
He does love pruning rocks scape all day.

I got two turbos (a 1” and a 1.5”) and they demolished 50g GHA inside of a few weeks.

But then they went after my lovely macro Pom Pom and ogo. I was aware it was a risk, but was disappointed it happened. I realized later that I didn’t supplement enough seaweed when they finished the GHA and so that is probably why they mowed down the macro.

I also have five astrea snails and they go after GHA, just not as quickly as the turbos.

The attached video shows the turbo a work. The area behind him was taken out minutes before I saw him going to town and before I could set up the time lapse.

Dam, I am super jealous. I can't get turbos to eat the hair algae, and most die within a few weeks.
