what is the best way to get rid of hair algae 29 gallon biocube phosphate 0.5 nitrate 20 ph 8.2 salinity 1.025

How many fish? How much and how often do you feed? Nutrients seem pretty high to me. What kind of clean up crew? What kind of lighting?

3 damsels hermit crabs snails 2peppermint shrimp LED lighting protein skimmer Media basket I run filter floss carbon pirogen phos gard I feed once every two days the tank is about 2 months old

Never worked for me.I did a lot of hand pruning rock scrubbing and watched the nutrients in the tank. Cut down photo period a couple hours a day as well and you should make a good dent in it.

Best thing is lower nutrients, take out affected rocks, scrub them, pour peroxide over affected areas, rinse with fresh rodi, put rocks back. Did this and ive been hair algae and bubble algae free for 6+months.

At two months, it really may be just a phase of cycling. Snails each have their preferred algae, but you might consider an Astraea turbo.

Post a pic of the algae.

Before additives, I'd suggest cutting the lights or feedings. With a little patience, you can influence the algae naturally, and be better off for it.

(And a huge welcome to R2R!!)

Just sounds like a new tank to me. Seems like you've already tried using other chemical approaches (carbon, phosgard, etc), but I'd suggest you stay away from them. Your tank needs to mature and settle or you'll be chasing chemical after chemical to try and achieve what you want. Try more regular water changes and skim a little wetter to bring your nutrients down. Another natural alternative is an algae turf scrubber.
