New tank is up and running about one month now had a short maybe 3 day diatom bloom. Not sure if it died off quick or my starving snails just demolished it. But now I have this greenish hair appearing algae can someone enlighten me a lil bit

Sb reef lights bout 12 hrs with only 4-5 hrs with whites
When the whites are on, what % are they set at. You may want to run them longer at a lower %. Around 40%. I was having problems with hair algae, was running whites at 80% for 12 hours. Turned them down to 40% for about 10 hours and haven't had a problem since.

I just got this light was scared of it only getting up to like 32% white on peak of its ramp

Naw I have hermits in my big tank and dnt like how they climb all on my corals and knock everything around not glued down my hammer just sits on the sand bed n watched them climb all over it and knock it over

Yea I mean the snails handle it for the most part was just curious if someone knew what it was. It's a coral only tank alk cal ph everything's good nitrates and phos at 0 but I know that's prob false because there consuming it
