I have always been told that when you have hair algae your phosphate will show zero even though your phosphate is most likely above zero. What about nitrate?
i have a newly cycled tank (4 months) and I show zero nitrate and zero phosphate, if I dose nitrate will it feed my hair algae? My hair algae is almost gone thanks to my sea hair, lawn mower blenny and naso tang.
the reason I ask is because my SPS look faded but everythingelse looks fantastic. SPS are still growing slowly.
