Hair algea mess

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to remove hair algea from frag plugs that are in my coral quarantine tank? I have 5 ninja star astreas in there and they do a pretty good job but they arent touching a few of the corals and theyre covered so much so that they wont open.

I would try manual removal using a tooth brush if possible. Another option would be a fine tipped paint brush and hydrogen peroxide. However, you do NOT want hydrogen peroxide to contact the coral itself as tissue damage will occur.

Manually remove as much as possible followed by peroxide dip.

Ive heard about the peroxide but am very worried about getting it on the corals. Also some affected are palys and zoas so makes me nervous to tick those off.

Another option would be transfer them to new plugs.

I do a tooth brush and then a dip in hydrogen peroxide.
