:frown: so i have a biocueb 29 for about 7 months. and about a month ago i saw a puff of hair algea. and now.... its on all the rocks! Its annoying! i added a phosphate pad that removes phosphate but didn't do anything... tried scrubbing with toothbrush helped but didnt get big patches off because they were stuck on too hard. So any advice!?!

Excess nutrients usually caused by overfeeding. You need to test for nitrates and phosphates.

Any other advice? i heard about the 3 days of darkness but wont that kill/**** off my coralS? thanks though guys!
the coral will be fine with the lights off. mine went 7 days last year with power an power outage. You could also dose hydrogen peroxide.

Lights out for 3 days will not harm the corals. But if you don't find the source of the fuel it will come right back.
