Hi,
Any way or anything to get rid of hair algea. My parameters are good, my lights I have reduced, and unfortunately I have a lawnmower blenny who is extremely lazy. All help is wanted.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt! Increase your cuc, tuxedo urchin (awesome), turbo snails, stomatella snails, fuzzy chitons, trochus snails. Of course manual removal as well.

Getting rid of hair algae is more than reducing lights, although that’s a good start.
Gfo.
Phosgaurd.
CUC. Clean up crew. 10 Turbos- 10 crabs for a 20 gallon tank.
Constantly pickoff hair algae from rocks. Vacuum gravel/sand.
Water changes.

During first year, the rock will absorb phosphates, and also leach them out. As it leaches out, hair algae tends to form

Stay on top of removal, keep water nutrient levels low (but not zero), and add some more snails and hermits.

You are at a timeline point where things should be stabilizing soon.

Mexican turbo snails are great for fresh growing hair algae that’s short. If you manually remove, there usually is still some leftover on the rock surface, and new algae will grow in time. The Mexican turbos do good with it at these stages.

Once the hair algae is long enough to pull off by hand, most critters avoid it. They like the fresh stuff.

So. Add some Mexican turbos and scarlet hermits if you can get them (they have yellow eyes, and are among the more friendly hermits), manually remove, and they will help keep it maintained as it attempts to grow back

Beware of Mexican scarlets if you have any ceriths. They love to pray on them for their shells, fyi.
